How to Play Rummy on EliteMelds
Whether you’re new to the game or coming back to the tables, here’s a simple guide to get you started with confidence and strategy.
Create Your Account
To begin your EliteMelds journey, create a secure account using your mobile number or email. We’ve made the signup process fast and seamless with instant OTP verification.
EliteMelds is committed to a fair and secure platform, so every user is verified to ensure authenticity. No bots, no fake profiles — just real opponents ready to challenge your skills.
You’ll also have the option to complete your profile, upload an avatar, and personalize your experience for smoother gameplay and quicker withdrawals.
Choose a Game Mode
Once inside the dashboard, you'll see multiple game formats: Points Rummy for fast-paced action, Deals Rummy for fixed round challenges, and Pool Rummy for endurance battles.
We recommend starting with Points Rummy. It's ideal for learning the ropes quickly, building confidence, and getting used to live opponents before progressing to cash formats.
EliteMelds also features limited-time events, quick-entry matches, and multi-table tournaments — all clearly marked by difficulty and entry fees to match your level.
Understand the Objective
Your goal is to arrange the 13 cards you're dealt into valid sequences and sets. A valid declaration must include at least one pure sequence — a run of cards in the same suit without jokers.
You can use printed and wild jokers for completing sets and second sequences, but not for the pure one. This rule makes your strategic decisions extremely important throughout the game.
As you draw and discard cards during each turn, you’re not just playing your own hand — you’re reading the table, blocking opponents, and managing your risk.
Start Playing & Declaring
During gameplay, you’ll pick up and discard cards with each turn. You can draw either from the open deck (discard pile) or the closed deck (face-down pile).
Keep track of which cards your opponents are discarding — this gives crucial hints about their hand and helps you decide which cards to retain or throw.
Once all your cards are arranged into valid sequences and/or sets, tap the "Declare" button. If your hand is valid, you win. Invalid declarations result in full penalty points, so always double-check.
Earn, Rank, Repeat
Winning earns you not only real cash but also XP (experience points) and loyalty rewards. As you rank up, you unlock exclusive tournaments, cashback bonuses, and priority support.
EliteMelds features a multi-tier league system where you climb based on skill and consistency. Track your performance stats, win streaks, and badge history in your profile dashboard.
Whether you're playing casually or chasing leaderboard glory, EliteMelds rewards your mastery with more than just bragging rights — your rummy reputation grows here.
Get Started Like a Pro
To begin, all players receive 13 cards from two decks (including jokers). The main goal? Form valid sequences and sets — and be the first to declare.
Make sure to start by creating an account, verifying your phone number, and choosing your preferred rummy variant. At EliteMelds, your first few matches are matched with beginners only — so relax and learn.

Understand Your Hand
Each card belongs to a suit (♠ ♥ ♣ ♦) and has a rank (A–K). Jokers are wild cards — they can complete a set or sequence (except for pure sequences).
Pure Sequence: 3+ consecutive cards in the same suit (no joker). Required to declare.
Set: 3+ cards of the same rank in different suits.
Impure Sequence: Sequence completed using jokers.
Play Your Hand Strategically
Each turn, pick one card (from the deck or discard pile), then discard one. The art of rummy lies in what you keep, what you throw, and when you throw it.
Watch what others are picking. Avoid feeding into their strategy. Drop high-point cards early if they don't help — especially if another player seems close to declaring.
Make a Smart Declaration
To declare, your hand must contain at least one pure sequence, one more valid sequence, and the remaining cards forming valid sets/sequences.
Click "Declare" when you're sure. The system auto-verifies your hand instantly — and if it's valid, you win. Invalid hands result in a full penalty.
Learn the Scoring
Each unmatched card carries penalty points (face value, capped at 80). Jokers and declared hands score zero. The player with the lowest total wins the round.
In Points Rummy, your win = total opponents’ points × rupee value per point. In Pool or Deals, chips and rounds come into play.
